Welcome to
Michigan Hillel
Our mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world.
The hearts and minds of our student and staff communities remain with the young children, teens, parents, and grandparents being held hostage, lost families and friends, and those lost in uniform. We ache for those in Israel enduring such pain and send strength and support to those defending her. This is simply nothing any of us could ever or should have ever expected to experience in our lifetimes.
We also deeply recognize the need to take care of ourselves, our families, our communities, and perhaps most importantly, our children here at home. Michigan Hillel staff have been working non-stop to provide support for our campus’s 6,500 Jewish students, ensuring our Hillel remains their safe haven home. Over the last few weeks we have experienced a record number of students seeking Hillel support. We have – and will continue – to be there for each and every one of them.
It is important for us to express tremendous gratitude to our parent, alumni, and local communities for their overwhelming support of our efforts. We will continue to share up-to-date information through our social media channels and our constant email communications. We welcome any and all support to our immediate need areas of enhanced security measures, pastoral care, mental health and well-being initiatives, Jewish education programs, and so much more.
When one thinks about Michigan Hillel, two defining characteristics come to mind: Community and Leadership.
Connect.
The Michigan Difference. Michigan Hillel is unparalleled in terms of its size, diversity, and quality of programming. Our Hillel supports nearly 40 independent student groups for our 6,500 Jewish students on campus. Each group provides opportunities for students to become involved as leaders, driving the programming and decision-making forward for their group and community.
