Parents & Alumni

Welcome hoMe

Each year, our students come together to make UM one of the most vibrant, diverse, and caring Jewish communities on a college campus, nationwide. Parents and alumni alike should feel such pride knowing that together with our staff and student leaders work so hard to support their 6,500 Jewish peers through nearly 40 student-led groups.

Staff is always meeting with students to engage them in the community, empower them as leaders, and talk about what they want to experience on campus. Similarly, we are committed to staying connected to our alumni as they go off to do amazing work throughout the world — always remaining passionately loyal to their University and to our Hillel.

To Our Parents

Mazal tov (congratulations) on having a Wolverine in your family!  For every student, we want to welcome them to campus and into our community, supporting his or her needs and interests in any way that we can.

Our staff is prepared to assist students with just about any problem that may arise too. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at (734) 769-0500 or contact our Chief Executive Office, Rabbi Davey Rosen, who is a direct staff resource for parents.

The bottom line for us is the same as for you: there isn’t anyone in the world more important to us than your student. That, more than anything else, is why we are here.

To Our Alumni

UM’s national reputation for being a great school for Jewish students is due in large part to you. Your commitment and thoughtfulness to nurturing and supporting the students who have come after you is what makes UM alumni special. And with the largest alumni base of any American university, you also know that incredible feeling of walking down the street or through an airport, seeing someone wearing maize and blue (or even better, Michigan-in-Hebrew gear! ), and saying “Go Blue” as you pass by!

Just as you support us by sharing stories of your time on campus and by financially supporting Jewish life on campus, so too, do we want to support you as alumni. Stay connected with us by receiving our e-Newsletter of Hillel and campus happenings, mentor an undergraduate student, help recent graduates settle into the community you live in, or just hear what other Jewish alumni are up to. We hope you will share your own happenings too so we can kvell about you in our Mazel Moments, send a Michigan mezuzah to hang in your new home, and as fast we can ship out a Michigan in Hebrew onesie and duckie for your family’s new addition!
