Students will be traveling by bus to and from Tamarack Camps with Hillel. Our staff coordinators, Haley and Caroline, can be reached at 734-769-0500 (office) or by email. Haley’s cell phone for emergencies is 734-827-4030. There is not good cell service at camp.
Tuesday, August 25:
9 am – 9 pm – Move in any time by going directly to your assigned residence hall and presenting an ID to receive your key card. Housing has received the UM IDs for all registrants and have those students only officially on the early move in list. There will be no parking permits; only metered street parking. Contact Housing for questions related to shipped boxes.
5:30 pm – 7:30 pm – Come any time to Hillel for our free Open House Welcome Dinner.
7:30 pm – 10 pm – Students (only) must stay at Hillel for a University-required program (ice breakers, games, outdoor movie weather-permitting)
10 pm – Students leave Hillel. Parents may pick them up, Uber, use SafeRide, walk, etc. Students may stay in their new dorm room that evening or may stay with family at hotels.
Wednesday, August 26:
9:45 am – Arrive at Hillel for check-in and continental breakfast (bagels, muffins, fruit, OJ, coffee). Students will place their belongings on the bus.
Suggested Packing List
10:30 am – Bus leaves Hillel. Bus will not stay for latecomers past 10:30 as it will be on limited time street parking. Please make every effort not to be late as we will not have rides for students who miss the bus.
**No Show Policy: Registered students who do not show up will be responsible for the full cost of their retreat participation in addition to their registration fee.**
Thursday, August 27:
1:30 pm – Bus leaves Tamarack Camps
Est. 2:30-3:00 pm – Bus arrives at Hillel
