Welcome Shabbat with Hillel every Friday night of the school year to celebrate as a community. For the 2020-21 year, Shabbat services and dinner will look different than before. Visit this page again soon for details or feel free to reach out to Rav Lisa Stella directly with your questions. *Want to help make Shabbat happen at Hillel? Join the Shabbat Committee! What is SHABBAT WITH HILLEL?
WELCOME: Make new connections to community, and to Judaism.
EAT: Our delicious Shabbat dinner, prepared fresh by our own Hillel Café, is FREE for students, but we ask that you RSVP so we can plan appropriately. You will need sign up in advance this year through our sign up form (open soon!) or via our our one-click RSVP email, which is sent every Thursday.
PRAY: We generally hold 3-4 different services to best serve our community of pluralistic Jewish practice. In the past, services have always been called an hour before dinner for students to sing along together or just take a few moments to yourself in these student-led spaces. Check back again soon for details on services this year. Learn about the different services by visiting our student groups page.
CONNECT: Schmooze with friends and meet new people, before, during, or after-dinner or at a small group dinner. Check out our Host At Home program for in-home ways to connect with friends during Shabbat this year.
ENJOY: Attend an oneg or an after-dinner learning session with compelling speakers, faculty, and staff. Or linger at your table with friends as long as you’d like. Visit our Events calendar often this year for details of programs being offered.
Our Shabbat Committee consists of current students of a variety of Jewish backgrounds and interests, all working together to make Shabbat great! Questions, concerns, or ideas you want to share? Email the Shabbat Committee or Rav Lisa.
